3D TYPE FACE
![]()
Brief_Create a 3D typeface from something 2D.
Outcome_The typeface I designed is based on a very simple abstraction from a common font.
Initially I sketched out the alphabet on graph paper and added an austere third dimension.
However it was not the letter I was interested in but this other dimension. By removing the
character in each case you are left with what looks like some form of Arabic. The issue was
that it was barely legible without knowing where it came from. To combat this I used a popular
system font, and Helvetica gave the typeface some structure. By extruding and rendering the
letters I was able to disassemble the characters one by one leaving only the distinctive feature
unique to each individual letter.
